74^th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race 2022 – 32 yachts competed

MARITIMO (Michael Spies/Neil Sherring) – 1^st IRC Div1, 1^st ORCi Div1, 1^st PHS Mod1, 2^nd AMS & 6^th across the line.
BLACK DIAMOND (Glenn Burrell) – 2^nd IRC Div1, 2^nd PHS Mod1, 3^rd ORCi Div1 & 8^th across the line.
HOT SEAT (Cath Levings) 3^rd PHS Mod1, 10^th ORCi Div1 & 16^th across the line.
KERISMA (Chris Larsen) 8th IRC Div1, 8^th ORCi Div1, 8^th PHS Mod1 & 14^th across the line
PRO-WELD YEAH BABY (Andy Lamont) 9^th PHS Mod1, 10^th IRC Div1 & 9^th across the line

CONGRATULATIONS – Addison Newland – 1^st Overall Champion

Combined High School – Secondary Schools Sailing Championships 2022

Hosted By Belmont 16ft Sailing Club the CHS Secondary Schools Sailing Championship is a “mixed fleet” Racing Program, which includes Hobie’s, Lasers, 29er’s, 16 Foot Skiffs and O’pen Skiff Classes. Addison came 1st overall (out of 47 boats), 1st girl (out of 16 girls) and 1st O’pen Skiff (out of 14 boats). Addison also retained the “Interstate Trophy” which she also won last year – what a little legend….YOU GO GIRL!

Nacra QLD State Championships 2022

Hosted by Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, we had several SYC representatives compete in the champs and some great placements as well – nice work folks!

BELLELLA (Nigel Lawrence) 2^nd Nacra 4.5
FAST ENERGY (Andrew Wilson) 2^nd Nacra 5.8
L PLATES (Matt Wright) 3^rd Nacra 17 (mixed)

Also, a massive worthy mention to FAST ENERGY who were granted average points for the day for rendering assistance to a young Nacra 15 crew in the 1^st race – well done Andrew for applying RRS 1.1 (Helping those in Danger) We are very proud!!
