Oxenford Watersports Centre

Southport Yacht Club has launched a newly developed Watersports Centre at the Regatta’s Waters Lake situated within the Damian Leeding Memorial Park, Oxenford. This is SYC’s fourth facility along with Main Beach, Hollywell and Dux Anchorage (South Stradbroke Island).

As the Club continues to grow with family members and youth sailors, the Club’s focus is to provide a facility with the introduction of kids learn to sail and stand up paddle boarding, just to name a few. While these sports are applied, SYC will maintain the involvement of all current activities that are currently hosted on the lake including rowing and outrigging.

The team at Boat Legs Café are very excited to be working with the Southport Yacht Club at their Oxenford venue. The precinct is a great place for the community to meet, play and enjoy recreational activities on the northern end of the Gold Coast.  The café offers food made locally at their sister Café; Kitchen at Keys located at Monterey Keys as well as juice, smoothies and a kids menu.

It is the coffee however that is the main attraction to the café. Seven Miles Coffee Roasters has been making coffee for over 50 years, but their latest partnership with Bear Cottage has seen a new blend created to give something back to the community.  A children’s hospice providing end of life care for children and their families is a charity well-deserving of charitable donations. $1 from every kilo of coffee sold goes directly back to the organisation. The blend aptly named; The Bear and the Beard is a rich medium roast with a dark chocolate, maple syrup and hazelnut praline Flavours.

So next time you’re taking a walk around Oxenford Lake or out with the family, stop by say hi to the girls and enjoy some really great coffee and tasty food.
