What a week!

She Sails

This month She Sails ran two different groups to see if a variety of activities could be integrated throughout the yearly program. The first group participated in a bit of fun on stand-up paddle boarding followed by sailing, and the second had a go at windsurfing. The wind forecast was for very light winds but we were lucky to get just enough for all the ladies to have some fun and get sailing. Our next event is Sunday 26^th March from 9am-Noon. Adult Learn to Sail – Dinghy

With our second beginner Adult Learn to Sail course underway this weekend, SYC Oxenford has introduced an Adult Learn to Sail – Intermediate level in 2023 for those wishing to develop and improve their skills and knowledge. Adult Learn to Sail is designed to help ages 16yrs+ move forward in their sailing journey and advance both their on and off water knowledge so that they feel confident and competent to take their sailing in whatever direction they wish; social, crewing or racing.

Although we are only at the beginning of 2023, the SYC Oxenford volunteers, junior and adult, are integrative to the success of our programs. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gives up their spare time to help us do what we do. THANK YOU!

SAILOR OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to Leo Sparshott who has been nominated as our Sailor of the Week. Leo is an up-and-coming Bic racer whose growth has been phenomenal over the past year. He currently sails in the Thursday afternoon squad and Junior Fleet on Sundays. Last week, Leo had his first try at sailing a Laser and although small in stature, he did well and held his own. Leo is a positive mentor to his peers and a spritely support to our instructors. Well done Leo, we look forward to following and supporting your sailing journey.
