HAMILTON ISLAND RACE WEEK
Hamilton Island race week was a great event and Commodore Drew Jones and the Club would love to say congratulations to all the boats that enter. Great job to all the sailors in the fast-paced and windy conditions!
THIS WEEK @ OXENFORD WATERSPORT CENTRE AND SQUAD UPDATE
By: Amber Hudson
Our Tackers 1 program has been a huge hit at Oxenford Lake! This weekend we were just focusing on having a bit of fun sailing the Hobie Cats, and for many it was their first time without a coach on board. They loved it so much that as we came in for morning tea, a few kids wanted to stay out! A quick powerboat ride followed by some fun on the playground wrapped up Tackers 1 for everyone, we hope they had fun and continue to Tackers 2.
Tackers 2 and 3 was coming to an end also. Sailing the Hobie Cats like in the morning proved very useful to keep the kids entertained. We split into three groups, one with our Instructor Angus and the other two groups split into boys and girls. We had a non-competitive race, which psyched the kids up and got them excited, making a great end to the term and everyone keen to continue with their sailing.
It’s so great to see our young sailors progress from through our Tackers programs and onwards to their bright sailing futures!
