Dear Simon.
I just wish to put on paper my heartfelt feelings of gratitude for the manner in which you and your team conducted the Qld State OK Titles at the weekend.
As a foreigner to Qld waters, I had no idea of what to expect when I made the commitment to drive up from the NSW Central Coast. May I say I was blown away by the professionalism of you and the entire Race Management team, and volunteers and the friendly manner in which we southerners were made to feel welcome at your club. Nothing was a problem and the on water action was expertly run, helping to make this event a great experience. In addition the off water facilities and activities meant that we were able to enjoy a complete package.
In 30 years of racing OKs, I am able to say that this was the best weekend event I have attended. I have already committed to the Nationals in January and can only hope that you can repeat this performance for the hopefully 40+ boats attending. I am sure you will, if not top it, though that will not be easy.
I am certain that all 7 of the southerners will be going back to their clubs and State organisations and be telling everyone how well this event was conducted and how much fun they had. I still have a smile a mile wide after a 9 hour drive to get back home. You have set a very high benchmark for what can be expected from an OK regatta.
Again Simon, all I can say is thank you to all involved for the contribution made to ensure that this was such a memorable event and I look forward to meeting up with you and the team in the new year at the Nationals.
