Southport Yacht Club host to 2018 Australian Yacht and Boat Club Managers Group
South East Queensland will be host to the 2018 Annual Yacht Managers Forum with events planned for both the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Yacht and Boat Club Managers will spend three days from Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th June visiting multiple venues including Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly and Southport Yacht Club’s four venues at Main Beach, Hollywell, Dux on South Stradbroke and Oxenford Watersports Centre.
Such event gives the opportunity for like minded business professionals to discuss the industries current market position, upcoming ideas, investments and trend changes.
An action packed agenda has been composed with multiple local and international industry leaders scheduled to present their insight. Speakers include Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s General Manager, Hayden Ports discussing winning the Americas Cup and the effects that occurred to the Club. Industry sponsors Micropower, Club Marine and Superior Jetties will also speak during the event along with attendees being greeted by Surfers Paradise MP, John-Paul Langbroek on opening night.
The primary host for this year’s forum will be Brett James and his dedicated team at Southport Yacht Club. “I have been to multiple Yacht Forums, including Perth and Melbourne, however this year I am extremely excited to say the forum will be at our home Club, SYC. With over 40 executives attending, this is the largest group of Managers to congregate in the event’s history, it just goes to show the importance and growth of the event,” said Brett James.
“We have four facilities to showcase during the event, which will include the obvious on-water concepts of Sailing and Marina facilities, plus food and beverage, Club events, Community Boards, Council dealings and much more. No two Clubs are the same, confirming the importance of all round Club discussions.” James added.
