THIS WEEK @ OXENFORD WATERSPORT CENTRE AND SQUAD UPDATE
By: Michaela Hanson
With courses for Term 1 complete, we have been running private classes out at Oxenford. Private lessons are available all year round and are the perfect way to begin your sailing adventure, catch up for a missed session or fast-track your way to a higher level. One-on-one coaching with our skilled instructors is the fastest and most efficient way to learn to sail.
OUT THERE FLEET
The teenage sailing program, Out There Sailing, has gained a lot of traction over the past 6 months. To assist the youth we have created a pathway with the aim of helping them progress in their sailing journey after completing their initial learning phase at Oxenford. As of Term 2, 2023, we are pleased to announce the start of the ‘Out There Fleet’ which will be conducted from Hollywell sailing primarily on Hobie Wave Catamarans and Bics.
SHE SAILS CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Sunday was the monthly She Sails event which was a superb sight with 9 Hobie catamarans and 4 RS Quest Dinghies out on the water. This is the first time qualified and experienced sailors have showcased the Quests in a She Sails event
SAILOR OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to Elke Hunt who is our Sailor of the Week. Elke sails Opti’s at Hollywell and demonstrates perseverance and dedication to refining his on-water skills, just lately practising using the microphone grip. Well done Elke!
