THIS WEEK @ OXENFORD WATERSPORT CENTRE AND SQUAD UPDATE

Things are ramping up here at SYC Oxenford this week as we sail through the latter part of Winter towards Spring.  Courses were in full swing, we hosted a couple of school groups, an Assistant Instructor, Instructor and Coach course.

On Saturday we also introduced some of our Adult and She Sails participants to join us SYC Hollywell by providing the opportunity for them to sail Hobie Wave Catamarans on the Broadwater, with a support boat.  Changing from sailing on the lake to the tidal and busy conditions of the Broadwater was both challenging and fun, expanding their skills, knowledge and passion for continuing their sailing journey with Southport Yacht Club.

Coming Up!

We are excited to be hosting sailing experiences on Oxenford Lake for the boys and their teachers from Toogoolawa School in nearby Ormeau over the next three weeks. Students and teachers have been participating on and off the water in a range of sailing activities, loving the experience and racing in different wind conditions, some have capsized but they’ve been fully loving the adventure!

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) at Oxenford Lake!

Now that the weather is warming up, have you considered Stand Up Paddle Boarding for some fun exercise? Stand up paddleboarding on Oxenford lake is a great safe way to get out on the water for some fun, be the envy of the pedestrians walking around the 4km walking track as you glide past on your ‘Ride The Tide’ paddleboard

• Sessions 1hr
• Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance
• Valid for ages 7 and above
• Participants under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult
• Must be able to swim unassisted
• Life jackets provided
• Customers must be medically and physically fit; if unsure, please consult your doctor before purchase
