JOHN MCNAMARA MEMORIAL RACE

Saturday saw the running of the 2024 John McNamara Memorial Yacht Race with 9 entries, fabulous conditions saw the fastest elapsed time being just under 4 hours, competitors raced from South of Pelican Banks in Moreton Bay towards Peel Island, Banana Banks and finish south of Pelican Banks to enjoy a few beverages at the newly refurbished Canaipa Point. Congratulations to all sailors on a great race, see you in 2 years for an even bigger event!

2024 INTERNATIONAL OK DINGHY, QLD STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, Humpybong Yacht Club

Congratulations to Kelvin Holdt who was inducted as the Qld OK Dinghy Associations First Life member. Social media posts on the night describe best his involvement with the class in Qld and why it was deserved. But needless to say it was unanimous that he was named a life member and that his typical modest protests against him being made a life member were exactly why he was awarded this honour. SYC ACADEMY

Team Update
Term 4 has seen the largest intake of Kids Learn to Sail (Tackers 1) sailors with over 55 kids ages 7-12 years participating in our Academy Trial day, 47 kids joined our course!

OutThere Fleet held at Hollywell has released an afternoon session to accommodate our growing OutThere Fleet!
Our Adult Learn to Sail beginner courses are reaching full capacity the month prior, and almost all participants are eager to continue with Sail Pass or Keelboat opportunities.

New Resources
New Carpark spaces are now finished and ready for use.

We are currently introducing a new booking platform across some of our sessions/events, called Fareharbour.
This will allow customers to have a smoother checkout process and some extra comms features.
