Coral Sea Pointscore Series

Southport Yacht Club has launched a blue water pointscore combining four of our special offshore racing events into an overall annual series! Earning a fantastic perpetual trophy, the Coral Sea Pointscore Series Winner will be determined by the lowest IRC points score result over the series, with scores accumulated over the four races with one race drop.
The four races included in the 2025/2026 season are:
Entry into the series is automatic upon entry into the above races and there is no additional cost.
Entry is available to all SYC registered boats and eligible visiting boats from other clubs.
RACE 1 of 4 – FLAT ROCK
The first of the four races is Flat Rock which is approaching fast! This is an outstanding offshore and overnight 67 nautical mile event, sending the fleet racing north from the Gold Coast Seaway to Flat Rock, located just off the coast of North Stradbroke Island at Point Lookout and returning to the Gold Coast with a finish line at the Sand Bypass Pumping Jetty.
RACE 2 of 4 – GOLD COAST MACKAY
The second of the four races is the GCCM Gold Coast Mackay Yacht Race 2025 and entries have already surpassed last year’s inaugural fleet size! This is an outstanding multi-day offshore event covering 520 nautical miles, sending the fleet north in time for the Whitsunday race weeks! This year the finish line will be part of Mackay’s Festival of Arts!
