Noakes – Sydney to Gold Coast Yacht Race – next week!!
Heads up – there’s a fleet of over 65 yachts entered into the Sydney to GC Yacht Race – the first of which, are projected to arrive at SYC Main Beach around lunchtime on Monday. It’s going to be a VERY busy SYC Main Beach Club House next week and the Sailing Office Team will be on hand to assist with official arrivals and logistics 24/7! Normal Club Racing will still go ahead next week at Hollywell and Main Beach as well!

Humpybong Winter Bash Update
Over the weekend of the 30th and 31st July 2022, Humpybong Yacht Club will host their annual WinterBash regatta for yachts, multihulls, trailer sailers, off-the-beach dinghies and catamarans. Wishing all the SYC crew who will be participating the best of luck.

Att: Skippers – our Safety Audits for 2022/2023 are due NOW! with the cut-off being Sunday 31st August 2022. Skippers must have their current Safety Audits loaded onto their Top Yacht Profiles by this date or risk not being able to compete in Divisional Races and Special Events and Regattas.

O’pen skiff Worlds regatta complete with Missy coming in 21st out of a hugely competitive gold fleet of 153 and top Aussie. A huge learning curve of racing in large fleets, starting on frantic start lines and finding her “protest, protest, protest” voice 
. One of THE BEST outcomes has been the new friendships with some amazing kids (Sophie, Banjo, Ollie in particular). Apparently her training schedule now includes regular trips to Belmont to train with Sophie . Thank you to the most amazing support crew at SYC for helping her get here and making the trip happen

THE SUMMER OF SAILING SERIES AUSTRALIA
| Six Events | Over 3 months | $1,000 SYC ClubCash | Free SYC Berthing | Perpetual Trophy |
A premier Sailing Series jointly hosted by Southport Yacht Club, Queensland Cruising Yacht Club and Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. The Series will be headlined by Qoin Sail Paradise 2023 Regatta, which will run from Monday 2nd January to Friday 6th January. The Summer of Sailing Series Australia, will incorporate Six (6) major sailing events all hosted off the crystal-clear waters and coastlines of Brisbane, The Gold Coast and Byron Bay. The Series will be held over 3 months from November 2022 through to January 2023 and will include:
1. The SEQ Ocean Qualifying Yacht Race
2. The Ted Elkes Memorial Regatta (inc. The Australian Sailing QLD Yachting Champs)
3. The Brisbane to Paradise Yacht Race
4. Qoin Sail Paradise 2023
5. The Julian Rocks Yacht Race
6. The Surf to City Yacht Race (Ocean Course)
