SUMMER OF SAILING SERIES (SSSA) 2023 WRAP UP
Wow, what a great way to cap off the Summer of Sailing Series Australia! The 30th anniversary of the Surf to City Yacht Race on the 21st of January 2023 was a special occasion, and it’s fantastic to see that it was part of such a prestigious SYC series. With both inshore and offshore fleets starting and finishing at the same place, it was an exciting and challenging race day for all participants and volunteers involved. With the support of the City of Gold Coast, the Summer of Sailing Series Australia was able to showcase the beauty and excitement of yachting to a wider audience. over the course of the sailing season 2022/23.
It was a massive finale to the SSSA which rivalled even the perfect sailing conditions of Sail Paradise itself (4 days of racing). Surf to City was high-octane racing with sun, surf and winds of 15 knots and up to 25+ gusts of wind which made for some very busy sailing with many spinnaker changes for many of the boats to the final win of the series, and those last very valuable points needed for the WIN!
But wait no more, the moment we are all here for… THE OVERALL RESULTS ARE IN!
Some fantastic results by everyone involved now that the series has concluded.
