SAILING NEWS
OXENFORD PROGRAMS GROW IN POPULARITY
Our Sailing programs continue to grow in popularity, with over 80 kids beginning or continuing their Sailing adventure, our staff were super excited to see their students for the next few weeks. 28 Tacker 1 sailors currently starting Term 2, which is the most we’ve ever had in leading into winter! Thank you to our SYC Associates Committee for sponsoring our Tackers 1 program, which allows us to offer a 2 for 1 promotion. The 2 for 1 promotion makes it more affordable for new sailing families to enter the sport, and allows junior sailors to bring a Mate along for the adventure, producing even more exposure and inclusivity for the sport.
We also have 38 Teen Sailors enrolled in our Out There program for Term 2, again also the most we have ever had. This would not be possible without the 2 new RS Quests provided by the Associates and launched last week. The generous support from the SYC Associates Committee with their investment will significantly benefit kids sailing at SYC, empowering young sailors and fostering a love for sailing within our community.
Adults learn to sail
Our Final session of the April Adults Learn to Sail course was a huge hit with the wind creating a great day for the Team. All our sailors were ready for their next adventures with their completed Certificates.

It’s been a busy week at our Sailing Office, finalising the 2024-2025 sailing season calendars and Sailing Instruction documentation for all Divisions! Schedule of Races have been released and uploaded to each of our Divisional Facebook Groups.

SYC FURTHER AFIELD
Garry Holt and his Crew aboard ‘Lets Get It On’ not only represented SYC well last weekend at Sail Port Stephens, they won the Division 1 ORC Commodore’s Cup! Congratulations Garry!
