THE PRESTIGIOUS BARTERCARD SAIL PARADISE ANNOUNCES A ‘NEW DATE’ FOR ITS 2023 RACING PROGRAM
The Gold Coast is once again buzzing with activity, and Bartercard Sail Paradise is thrilled to be at the forefront of the revitalized September and October event calendar with thanks to Major Events Gold Coast (MEGC).

The 14th Bartercard Sail Paradise is now set to take place from Saturday 30th September 2023 to Monday 2nd October 2023 on the Gold Coast. This offshore sailing regatta promises three days of exhilarating racing, showcasing the skill and passion of sailors from across the region. With multiple categories and courses to choose from, participants can compete at their level and experience the thrill of sailing against a backdrop of pristine beaches and picturesque coastline.
As we move forward with preparations for the 14th Bartercard Sail Paradise, we invite everyone to mark their calendars and join us for this prestigious event. Let’s come together to celebrate the spirit of sailing, enjoy the coastal beauty of the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Offshore Sailing Regatta
- Over 3-Day Long Weekend from September 30th to October 2nd
- Southport Yacht Club, a multi-award-winning Club and Restaurant is hosting the event
- Not just for sailors – families and friends can also enjoy holiday pleasures on the Gold Coast
- Daily prizes for all divisions
- The Regatta will incorporate the QLD Yachting Championships
The regatta will feature seven divisions over three days, including:
- Monohull IRC/ORC
- Monohull Performance Racing PHS/ORC
- Monohull Cruising – Spinnaker (PHS)
- Monohull Cruising – Non-Spinnaker (PHS)
- Monohull 2 Handed Division IRC/ORC
- Multihull Racing (OMR)
- Multihull Cruising (PHS)

THIS WEEK @ OXENFORD WATERSPORT CENTRE AND SQUAD UPDATE

With our School Holiday Sailing programs now over we’ve just completed the first week of our Term 3 Learn to Sail Courses. Our youth Tackers (7-12yrs) and Out There (12-16yrs) sailing programs will continue for the next 7 weeks. We’re excited to have our next cohort of junior Sailors out on the Lake, building their skills and enjoying the beautiful weather our Queensland winter has to offer!
If you want to enjoy the beautiful weather out on our Lake for yourself, remember that we hire equipment too! So if you fancy doing something different with your family or friends (ages 7yrs+), head to Oxenford Watersports Centre to hire a Stand-Up Paddle Board, Catamaran Sailing Boat (up to 4 people per boat) or Windsurfer. We provide you with lifejackets and our instructors will help you learn what you need to get out on the water for some active and healthy Winter fun!
First Hire is 9am, last hire is at 2pm.

SAILOR OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to our Sailor of the Week Nate McCarthy! Nate has amassed a wealth of experience for such a young Sailor with 18 months of experience sailing regattas, placing 5th in the States, 2nd Cock of the Broadwater in his first ever regatta, a frequent Top 10 placeholder, 1st Cock of the Broadwater in 2022 and 1st Maroochy Head of the River. Nate has recently won the Club Champs series and is positioned well for the current Sprints Series.
Nate is an exemplary Sailor who will do anything for his peers. He has been mentoring others and helping his fellow Sailors, as well as staff and volunteers at the lake at every opportunity. He is always eager to share his knowledge and is known by the Oxenford team as one of the best at teaching and progressing as a Tacker Sailor.
