SAILOR of the WEEK

Congratulations to Emerson Wheeler who is Sailor of the Week. Emerson started sailing at SYC two years ago. At that time he was already for his school both in the teams racing and fleet racing. Emerson competed at both Youth Week and Yepoon last year. He currently sails his Laser entered his first regatta this year (Qld State Laser champs) using his radial sail. At the beginning of the year, he started sailing his 29er and will be competing again at Youth Week and Yepoon. He is working hard at skippering the 29er as it is a different skill set to his Laser.

Emerson would love to compete at a national level, then who knows if he is successful! He enjoys the competitive side of sailing and this naturally leads to a camaraderie amongst his peers.
