Shout Out to Jessie May Jackson (Skipper of Sunshine Jack Sail # 68)
Jessie came first in her PHS Division 2 – this was the first time for Jessie at the helm – she was over the moon with the result. Jessi is one of only a few female skipper/boat owners entered in the offshore and inshore fleet, she had 5 ladies on the boat racing with her on Sunday, 4 of which have never sailed before! – #GIRLPOWER – looking very “nautical Sheik” ladies xx

Whilst the weather gods didn’t shine on us for the full 3 days of scheduled racing – a great day of racing occurred on the Sunday with 5 fantastic races completed.

Lisa Rose wins Gold Coast and Australasian Etchells Championship
The Etchells Gold Coast Championship and Australasian Championship were sailed from the Southport Yacht Club from 28-29 and 28-30 May 2022 respectively. The conditions for the sailors were very shifty with the breeze coming from the West to North-West throughout the day. We saw gusts of up to 21 knots, averaging 12 knots and shifts of up to 35 degrees at times.
