BRISBANE WOMEN’S KEELBOAT CUP (RQYS)

Congratulations to our local SYC team the ‘GCCM Pink Diamonds’, who won Line Honours and finished 8th on PHS corrected time onboard the Commodore’s Reichel Pugh 42, competing against 10 other teams this past weekend, 5th-6th July. Representing SYC was Skipper Phoebe Reedman and crew Emma Ballie, Annie Eastgate, Jess Greenwood, Ben Kelly, Tomoko Nakanishi, Jackie O’Connell, Lee Randall and Jasmine Ruck.

NORTHSAILS 2025 OPEN SKIFF QLD STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (TSC)

Congratulations to our SYC Academy members Travis Pinter, Harvey Brooks, Addison Greenwood, Nate McCarthy & Caleb McCarthy, who competed at the NorthSail 2025 Queensland Open Skiff State Titles in Townsville! Over the past four days these sailors have shown focus, determination, and a resilience that they should all be very proud of. It’s fantastic to know that the future of sailing is in capable hands! Competing against 61 competitors, Nate McCarthy came 1st and won the title of Queensland State Skiff Champion, Addison Greenwood earned 6th place overall (3rd in Female), Harvey came 14th and Travis came 17th.

Caleb McCarthy came 4th in Green Fleet on his Optimist.

CORAL SEA BLUE WATER POINTSCORE SERIES

Southport Yacht Club has launched a blue water pointscore, combining four of our special events into an overall annual series! Earning a fantastic perpetual trophy, the Coral Sea Pointscore Series Winner will be determined by the lowest IRC points score result over the series, with scores accumulated over the four races with one race drop. The four races included in the 2025/2026 season are:

Flat Rock Yacht Race, 66nm, – May 24, 2025

GCCM Gold Coast Mackay Yacht Race, 520nm, Aug 1 2025

Cook Island yacht Race, 35nm, – Nov 2, 2025

Julian Rocks Yacht Race, 85nm, – Mar 14 2026

Entry into the series is automatic upon entry into the above races and there is no additional cost. Entry is available to all SYC registered boats and eligible visiting boats from other clubs.For more information on the series and each of the races please click here.
