CORAL SEA BLUE WATER POINTSCORE SERIES
Southport Yacht Club has launched a blue water pointscore, combining four of our special events into an overall annual series! Earning a fantastic perpetual trophy, the Coral Sea Pointscore Series Winner will be determined by the lowest IRC points score result over the series, with scores accumulated over the four races with one race drop. The four races included in the 2025/2026 season are:
Flat Rock Yacht Race, 66nm, – May 24, 2025 GCCM Gold Coast Mackay Yacht Race, 520nm, Aug 1 2025 Cook Island yacht Race, 35nm, – Nov 2, 2025 Julian Rocks Yacht Race, 85nm, – Mar 14 2026
SYC ACADEMY

This week has been all about preparing for our upcoming School Holiday Sailing Program, starting Monday, June 30. Our instructors and admin team have been busy prepping boats, gear, and activities to ensure the next two weeks are filled with fun, learning, and adventure on the water.
Over the weekend, Oxenford hosted a Dinghy Instructor Course, welcoming over seven upcoming instructors from sailing clubs across the region. It was fantastic to see their dedication as they developed their instructing skills and worked towards their Australian Sailing accreditation. We’re proud to support these important training opportunities within the wider sailing community. Thank you to all staff and volunteers for their hard work this week – bring on two big weeks of School Holiday Sailing!
