Marina Maintenance Program
29/05/2026
As part of the ongoing Marina replacement project, we would like to advise members of the following upcoming works.
E Arm Gangway Installation
The new E Arm gangway is scheduled to be installed on Thursday 4 June at 10:00am. The installation is expected to take approximately two hours.
During this time, the E Arm gangway entrance will be temporarily closed while the lift and installation activities are undertaken.
For safety reasons, we strongly encourage members to avoid the area during the installation period. However, to assist members requiring access to or from the marina, boat service will be available where required, similar to previous marina works.
F & G Arm Gate Installation
Installation of the new F and G Arm security gates is scheduled to occur between Monday 8 June and Wednesday 17 June.
The contractor will work to minimise disruption and accommodate access wherever practical. Members should be aware of work areas, temporary barriers and contractor directions during this period.
Importantly, the access control system will remain the same, and members should experience no change to their normal access arrangements once the new gates are commissioned.
Safety First
While every effort will be made to maintain access throughout these works, member and contractor safety remains our highest priority. We appreciate your patience, cooperation and understanding as these important upgrades are completed.
Should you have any questions regarding these works, please contact the Marina Office, who will be pleased to assist.
Thank you for your continued support as we continue to improve and modernise the marina facilities.

We are pleased to share that works continue to progress well as part of the marina replacement program, with another major milestone successfully achieved.
On 11 May 2026, the existing E Arm — which carries the marina’s main services — was carefully relocated by boat to the western side in one coordinated move. To allow this operation to be completed safely and efficiently, small sections of walkway were temporarily removed from Arms A, B, C and D.
This was a fantastic team effort and a significant achievement for the project. SYC would particularly like to acknowledge the planning, coordination and hard work of the Marine Structures Project Manager, the Marina Office team, and Subcontractors in particular Protech Electrical, who worked exceptionally well in challenging weather conditions to ensure services were restored as quickly as possible.
Installation of the new E Arm is also progressing well, with piling works and finger installation continuing on schedule. While excellent progress is being made, members are reminded that works are still ongoing, with additional services, fittings and fixtures to be completed as part of the final project delivery.
We sincerely thank all members for their patience, understanding and ongoing support while these important marina improvements are carried out. The upgrades will provide long-term benefits for the Club and marina users for many years to come.
As always, should you have any questions, please contact the Marina Office.

🚧 Marina Access Update – Temporary Changes (11–13 May)
Good morning Members,
As works progress into the main marina area, we’re entering an important stage involving relocation of the main walkway.
What this means for you:
There will be limited access across Marina Arms A, B, C, D and the Superyacht Arm while these works are carried out.
Dates:
Monday 11 May to Wednesday 13 May 2026
Key impacts:
- Temporary limited access across all main marina arms
- Power and water will be unavailable during this period
- A tender service will be available as needed (details signposted on each arm)
To help everything run smoothly, we kindly ask:
- Please avoid accessing the marina unless necessary
- Do not book trades (detailers, mechanics, contractors, etc.) during these dates
While we’ve allowed a full three-day window as a precaution, the team is aiming to complete the works and restore services earlier if possible. We’ll keep you updated if this happens.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we deliver these improvements to the marina.
For any further questions, please feel free to contact the Marina Office directly.

SYC Marina Project – Project Update
Southport Yacht Club is pleased to advise Members that F Arm has now been successfully completed, marking another significant milestone in the ongoing marina redevelopment and continuing to lift the standard of marina facilities across the Gold Coast.
The strong progress achieved to date reflects the collaborative efforts of Marine Structures, Marina Office and Members, supported by efficient work sequencing
Next Stage – E Arm Commencing
With F Arm complete, works will now transition to E Arm, scheduled to commence on 13 April 2026, with completion anticipated toward the end of July 2026. Minor works to selected berth will occur prior the week of the 7 April 2026.
E Arm represents a critical component of the overall marina upgrade, as it carries the primary services infrastructure that supplies power, water, and communications to the remaining marina arms. Completing these works is an important step in supporting the continued progression of the broader project.
Member Access During Works
During the initial phase, existing piles and finger pontoons on E Arm will be removed. For safety reasons, Marine Structures will carefully manage Member and guest access along E Arm while these activities are underway.
Members may experience short delays of up to approximately 10 minutes at times while removal works are in progress. The project team will make every effort to minimise disruption and avoid holding Members or guests unnecessarily, particularly during peak access periods.
Looking Ahead
The marina redevelopment remains a significant long-term investment in the Club’s waterfront facilities, with overall project completion anticipated in late 2027.
The Marina Office will continue to communicate directly with Marina Gold Members regarding any vessel movements required during upcoming stages, with ample notice provided to ensure smooth planning and minimal disruption.
Southport Yacht Club thanks all Members for their ongoing patience and support as we continue delivering a marina designed to serve the Club and its Members well into the future.

SYC Marina Project – F Arm Progress Update
Southport Yacht Club is pleased to share that F Arm is nearing completion and looking better than ever, continuing to raise the standard for marina facilities across the Gold Coast.
Southport Yacht Club has seen excellent progress, with Marine Structures and their team streamlining the construction process and improving work sequencing. Combined with favourable weather conditions, this has positioned F Arm to be completed approximately two weeks ahead of schedule.
Elevate Project Services continues to oversee the works on behalf of SYC, ensuring strong quality control and delivery standards are consistently maintained.
In recognition of the progress to date, Marine Structures recently hosted a BBQ for subcontractors, acknowledging the significant effort that has gone into the successful completion of G Arm and the near completion of F Arm.
Brett James (GM), on behalf of the SYC Board and Waterfront Committee, expressed appreciation to Marine Structures and all subcontractors for their work to date, while noting there is still a long way to go until full completion, which is expected late 2027.
The Marina Office will be in contact with all Marina Gold Members regarding any required vessel movements, with ample notice provided to ensure a smooth transition.
